First of all go to this link and install the .deb setup of oracle--

oracle10g express edition

*If you want to install some other setup then just go one page back and from there you can also download 11g setup..

Now there will be two setup express edition and universal..you can choose anyone of them...the description is given there just below the link...

So,after downloading the setup ,just double click on it.Your debian package installer(gdebi) will install it..in my case it asked for one package(oracle-xe) to download so i downloaded it...

Now, you will be able to see your oracle10g tag under the application's menus.
Now, open your terminal and type this--

$sudo /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure [enter]

Follow the process as in this screenshot---

Just click on this pic and you will get the exact idea...

The password which you type here, will be your login password.

At last,go to your browser and write the last line in your url as it is given in this pic.

That's it!!!
