Sound like we are going to make Maggi. But it's true !! It will be very basic application and later we will enhance its quality by adding some new features in it..

Let's start....

As I am writing this post for Windows platform, So first of all you have to install ROR framework for windows. Don't be afraid because you don't have to install ruby, rails and all the gems files individually. This has already been take care by the our awesome open source community and we have to install just one file to make everything work.

So, just install this file : Rail Installer

(Hey !! haven't I covered the installation in my previous posts ?? )

Once everything is done, Go to the start and look for "Command Prompt With Ruby And Rails".

Open it and create your new project by executing this command:

rails new (project name)

Move to your project directory :

cd (project directory)

Now, the last one:

rails generate scaffold User name:string

Now execute :

rake db:migrate

Now, execute this to start our local server...

Open your browser and go to : http://localhost:3000/users

Add , Edit , Destroy... You can do anything !!

That's it !!
It took me long to reach here but somehow I managed to write my 200th post.Because it's 200th post, I am taking off from technical post and writing something interesting which I had found recently.Music and guitar is my another passion. So, why not just write about this today....

Just take any video of your interest and play will be normal youtube video but while video will be running , you will be able to see guitar tabs and chords at the bottom of the screen...

You can see all completed videos here...Youtube Videos With Chords
First of all go to this website and grab the setup according to your sql server platform.

It would be around 58mb. Once the setup is installed , extract the zip files. You will be able to see two files here :

Now, open your Sql Server 2008 and right click on the database.

Now, you have to add the .mdf file by clicking on the add button.

Browse for the .mdf file and click on the ok button.

So, once everything is done , just refresh your database and you will be see to this database ...

The benefit of use a website to learn anything is that you can open it anywhere and just learn..
So, We will follow this awesome way to learn linux commands....

Let's see the list....

CommandLineFu: is the place to record those command-line gems that you return to again and again.
Delete that bloated snippets file you've been using and share your personal repository with the world. That way others can gain from your CLI wisdom and you from theirs too. All commands can be commented on, discussed and voted up or down.

Vim Adventure:

This is the best way to learn Vim editor commands.

Tons of war games are available here to learn linux commands, the easiest is the Bandit…

As per the website:
We want to make learning your favourite playtime activity. That's how it should be: we learn best when we're relaxed, curious and confident, and, after all, the world is a very interesting place.
So we've turned learning facts and language into a game where you grow a colourful garden of memory. You grow and water your memories in a garden of memory, you zoom up the leaderboards, and you learn alongside your mempals. It's like a guiltless video-game.

Just one statement for this : " An actual terminal inside web browser..."

In my past articles, I had already discussed how to install firebug in firefox. So, now let's use this awesome editor..

Open firefox and press F12.

This will open an editor in the bottom of the screen as mentioned in the below screenshot :

So, now just put an alert box and let's see how it works:

You just have to put an alert box in front of >> and hit enter.

There are a lot of options available as you can see in the above screenshot.

Just explore and learn.

Open your terminal and type this:

sudo apt-get install poppler-utils

Once, this is installed. Type this in terminal:

Now, to extract the images:

pdfimages (pdf file name) (images file location and basename)

Just make sure, Whatever name you will mention in last, will act as basename for  all images.

Let's talk about a utility which can convert your pdf files to text files in just one line of statement. We will use terminal to install this utility.

First open your terminal and install : pdftotext

sudo apt-get install pdftotext

pdftotext Certificate_1.pdf  Certificate.txt

Suppose, you want to compare two pdf files in Ubuntu platform. So, how will you do it?

You just need to install one package. Open your terminal to install this package:

sudo apt-get install diffpdf

Well, Ubuntu is not quipped with the Microsoft Word, Excel etc but it is having more powerful utility than Microsoft, known as Libreoffice. Today, we will use this utility to convert doc to pdf without any hassle.

Once the document gets opened, Go to File -> Export as PDF.

Once you click this option, you will get an screen like this:

You can also secure this PDF with the password by going through the Security tab.
