This is the best way to get yourself acquaint with Git. You don't need to install anything to learn it. You can run the Git related commands in your browser only.

Grab an awesome introduction video tutorial here... Git Real

This video alone will tell you a lot of thing about Git.. but in short if you want to know then :

Git allows groups of people to work on the same documents (often code) at the same time, and without stepping on each other's toes. It's a distributed version control system.
Once you get aware of the Git commands, use them in you browser by visiting to this link.

Well, I can write a whole story here but it is not required. The above mentioned two links are enough for you guys to get started.
There are two options to perform this action. One is with Terminal and the Second one is via GUI as mentioned in this post title. If you are not a command fans, then this option is only for you.

Let's see how to do this...

It is just two steps process...

First select your file.

Right click on it and select the properties option.

It will open up a window as mentioned below.. Go to the 'Permission' tab...

Now, just select ' Allow executing file as program '....

That's it !!
Well, this is a simple question and it arises mostly when we have to install some software and it asks for the machine version so that we can install the compatible version of the software so that we don't have to face any post installation hassle !!

Let's see the simple way...

Open your terminal and type :

uname -a

You will get some output as mentioned in the above screenshot.

For the 64 bit version of the software, you will get something like this :
Linux discworld 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:50 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

While , for the 32 bit version, you will get something like this :

Linux discworld 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:50 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Well, this is the simplest way to determine the version of your Ubuntu.

Once, this is done. Open up the Dash and look for Software and Update.

Now, go to the Addition driver tab and select your wireless driver.

Click on Apply changes...It will take a while to install this driver.

Once , the above mentioned steps are done. You will be good to go...

You will be able to see , Wi-Fi icons under your network notification area...

Done !!!!
I switched to Ubuntu 13.10 and faced this problem when I was trying to watch a video on Youtube. The error was just like as mentioned below:

Well, you don't need to do a lot of things to fix this issue. Just click on the 'Get the latest Flash Player' link and it will redirect you to adobe site.Select the version to download based on your OS. It is .tar.gz for me.

Once , it gets downloaded completely.Just extract the setup file. You can use either the terminal to extract the file or just right click on the zip package and select the option extract here. The extracted files will look like this:

Now, just copy libflashplayer.so file and put it into /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins folder.

(libflashplayer.so file is in the home folder in my case...)

It's done , enjoy your videos...
